In general I'm a pretty polite person. I always say please, thank you, and excuse me. I hold open doors for everyone. Despite the fact that these things should be common knowledge people are still insufferable rude. How hard is it to say excuse me when you're squeezing past someone in a narrow aisle? Is it so much of an inconvenience to hold the door open 2 extra seconds when someone is behind you? When your cashier, teller, or waitress says hello to you why can't you give them the common courteous of saying it back? People are so rude sometimes it just shocks me. I can't imagine treating another person that way. Sometimes I really wish I had a manners stick so I could knock it into a bunch of people I know.
